At the end of last year Danielle & RJ booked in with me to cover their wedding next year and I was delighted when they booked an engagement session too! Engagement sessions are the perfect introduction to getting yourself ready for being in front of the camera on your wedding day and also give you a bank of pre-wedding images to look back on for years to come.
I especially enjoy engagement sessions as it gives me the opportunity to spend an extended period of time with my couples getting to know them and hearing some more about their story together whilst often exploring cool mountain areas (or in this case sand dunes!) with zero time pressure.
Ask anyone who has got married and they’ll tell you your wedding day is a whirlwind that goes by in a flash. For me the majority of that flash should be you living out your day IN THE MOMENT surrounded by those who love you most, not being trailed up a mountain on the other side of the country. I mould my approach on wedding days with that in mind. On a wedding day all I ask of my couples is a 30-minute slot with me and them alone to nail some stunning images, and if there are sand dunes close AWESOME we’ll go but if not, we’ll shoot some killer images on site wherever that may be. I am not that photographer who trail you round a tour of Northern ireland for the whole afternoon!
Here are some images from Danielle & RJ’s session, they absolutely killed it! Their chemistry was next level, their dogs who made a short cameo didn’t eat me (which is always a positive) and with surroundings as beautiful as Portstewart we just just couldn’t lose!
